Has anyone taken the following the TECEP exams? I'm curious to know whether they are more/less difficult than the DANTES/CLEP/ECE equivalent. Also, does TESC assign a grade for these exams and is that grade reflected on your transcript? I'm pretty sure that TESC does NOT assign a grade for CLEP/DANTES/ECE exams. They are marked as Pass/Fail. I haven't taken any of those particular TECEPs, but TESC will transcript them as Pass/Fail ... Cheers.
I doubt that many people would know which is harder, since it doesn't make sense for a person to take both the TECEP and the DSST or CLEP equivalent unless they failed an exam. Of the ones you list, the only one I've taken as a TECEP would be Business Policy. It was mildly challenging. DSST Organizational Behavior was fairly easy. DSST Finance was challenging and intimidating, but in the end, perfectly doable. I thought CLEP Marketing was the dumbest, most boring exam ever, but then, I was a marketing major. I didn't take a Business Law I exam, but did take DSST Business Law II. That was a nice, challenging exam, with good depth and tricky questions.
TescStudent- Can you give me some detailed feedback about the DSST Business Law II exam? I am scheduled to take that exam on Wednesday and am studying like crazy! Any help/advice is incredibly appreciated. This is my first DSST exam so I'm obviously a bit nervous. Regards, Joshua
It's been almost two years since I've taken it, but I do remember that the fact sheet on the Business Law II exam was pretty much spot on, and the example questions were pretty representative. I think there was a bit more on banking and commercial paper than I expected. The answer choices were such that it often seemed as though there was no definite answer, but maybe a best answer, which you'd expect from a law exam. To be honest, I only studied for a few days for the exam. But there was a method to this madness. I actually finished a Business Law I course at TESC a week before the exam, and spent a few days in between studying areas not covered in BL1, like business partnerships and probate law. So I was primed on basic business law, but was a bit weak in some of the more advanced areas. Still, this was a challenging exam. I liked it a lot.
