I've been searching and reading for a while now although I should have taken better notes. I think I really screwed up because I applied to TESU and sent them my transcripts. I wanted to see how they would apply my military experience (USMC and ARNG) and my college courses. I've been through so many colleges/universities over the years so figuring out how the courses aligned to TESU's degree requirements was a painful undertaking.

Could someone please help an ignorant guy out? I'm so confused. I want to do either a BSBA in Accounting or BSBA in Finance. I have absolutely no desire to become a CPA but having accounting courses helps in some federal government jobs. I've been working for the federal government for a couple decades now so I have a lot of experience in finance/budget analysis but some jobs (federal auditor) requirest 15 or so credit hours in accounting. I'll stick to finance though if it means I can do all the courses online for free/at a reduced cost. TESU is showing my active degree program is BA in Music. Not sure how that happened but I'll change it later.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you looking for recommendations on how to earn the remaining credits for your degree?

You're right, I don't think my question was coherent. My question is, what degree plan would you pursue if you were me? Either Accounting or Finance? I think I could eventually figure out what specific classes to take although if you already know it then I would greatly appreciate that info as well.

It really depends on what you career goal is. What exactly is it you want to accomplish with the degree? It looks like you're interested in pursuing jobs that require a certain number of accounting courses. If so, I think it makes sense to earn a degree in accounting.

The main thing is, I just want to finally finish the stupid thing. The accounting courses would just be a bonus in case I find an auditor job in USA Jobs so they could potentially make me viable for more positions.

Do you know if you can do both of the programs (Accounting and Finance) entirely online? If I'm not able to do the Accounting program online then I'll go with the Finance program.

I think you've answered your own question. If you consider the accounting courses to just be a bonus, then take the path of least resistance. Earn whichever degree is the quickest and easiest to complete and then get on with your life.

TESUs website tells you if you can complete an entire program online, I was just reviewing it the other day.

True, but I read on a few threads here about programs you can complete online. Finance was one of them but it seemed as though accounting wasn't recommended. Perhaps the reason is accounting considered a harder program so people choose another path, so the path of least resistance? Or is it because you can fulfill more classes for free/at reduced cost for finance vs accounting?

I can't answer the reason why. I will tell you that this isn't the forum for the most up-to-date information regarding completion of undergrad programs. Tests, what TESU offers/accepts, etc. are continually changing and we aren't staying up on those changes. The general thought is that due to the fees TESU charges it is better to grab credits from many different sources at a lower cost (CLEP, ACE, etc.) and then bring them in at "the last minute" to pay the minimal fees needed to confer a degree there.

Looking online, as I mentioned for you to do, on TESU's website shows that both the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in either Finance or Accounting is available completely online. https://www.tesu.edu/academics/what-you-can-study

I know, I looked online. I was trying to figure out which program would be cheaper to complete. I've decided on Accounting though so thanks for the help.
