Summer PhD?

Are there any Summer PhDs available? Such would be a "distance" PhD in a sense for all who have a career that enables them time off during Summers--educators, of course. I'm wondering primarily if there are any business or management-related PhDs available from any AACSB-accredited programs, but would be interested in info on any such programs, if they exist.

    Thanks!

Additionally, I believe that Gonzaga University's Ph.D. in Leadership has residency requirements may be completed during two consecutive summers as well... this is not directly business related, however GU's leadership program appears to be very flexible... and the below website makes reference to CEO's and presidents of major corporations as alumni... if this program is of interest I would recommend checking out the dissertation titles of graduates (look for the dissertation titles link on the left side of the below web site)... it is a very interesting list covering just about everything... except underwater basket-weaving...

    Bruce:

I really appreciate the info; I'll check it out, esp GU.

    Thanks!

FYI-Indiana Univ is in the hometown of Jimmy Stewart, an obscure and totally useless factoid.

    BruceP:

When you said "flexible" and "covering just about everything" you weren't kidding--looking at those dissertation topics and the coursework and electives, it would appear as if they have virtually created a do-it-yourself PhD. The coursework could be pushed in virtually any direction, underwater basketweaving notwithstanding!

I totally agree... their program appears to be well thought out and very workable for the summer months!

Middlebury College's Doctor of Modern Languages is a summer-only program.

Nova Southeastern, University of Phoenix, Argosy, Capella, and many others offer doctoral programs that offer distance learning during the year with summer residencies.

Another useless factoid: My Aunt Flossie (Actually, she was my Grandfather's Aunt) was one of Jimmy Stewart's teachers in Indiana, PA. When he came back for homecoming in the late 70's, she rode with him in the convertible down main street. There is even a photo of it in Time Magazine. She described Jimmy Stewart as a fine young man. So, there you go with info you needed to know...

Everyone should have an aunt named Flossie.
