Hi Everyone. I was wondering if any knows of a masters/doctorate in Story Telling. I am aware that East Tennessee State University offers such programs but I'm curious if there are any online programs in this field. Thank you for any information.

Have you checked out this site? Storytelling Courses Several degree programs - don't know which are distance, but at least one (Lesley U. - Mass.) has a program that's available at several locations across the country. I'm a bit of a music bug myself and I find that although there's a lot of great online instruction and some distance courses from the best schools, e.g. Berklee, performance arts degrees usually require in-person attendance. I think possibly this is the case with storytelling. It's a pretty difficult process to judge, from video or webcam... the "vibe" or atmosphere and emotional content created may not show up fully - in fact that's quite likely, as I see it.

I notice on the list that Goddard College, Vermont, has an MA in this field. This school was one of the pioneers in Distance Ed. I think it may have become more residential nowadays. Not sure.

Thanks for the prompt responses. Both the digital storytelling and Creative Writing ones are intriguing options. I suspect storytelling is best accomplished in traditional classes where skills can be honed in the context of a story telling community.
