Kristin: SJU seems to have removed all contact info other than a couple of email addresses -- no physical mailing address or phone number.

Does this mean that the DETC accreditation team won't have the pleasure of
trudging down that one-lane dirt road, and watching out for the "Bad Dog"?

  2. Is this Saint John University the same as St. John's in Louisiana, as suggested by John's post? This one has a .uk URL, and claims to have been established in 1862 by the "Poor Friars" of Saint John's Island (or Isola Gallinara).

Interesting. In the web design business it is not uncommon to lift the html code of another site and use it. It is more common to use parts of it, not the entire page. St Johns did change most of the content but left some. I wonder why they didn't choose an unrelated site and change all the content? Seems clumsey at best.

  4. John: You're thinking of St. John<B>'s</b> -- website at http://www.sjuonline.com/ currently listing its address as 31916 University Circle, Springfield, LA 70462 (and noting that it "IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY® OF JAMAICA, NEW YORK, OR ANY OF THE OTHER ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITIES AROUND THE WORLD").

"Saint John University" ("saint" not abbreviated, and no possessive) appears to be in the Virgin Islands. It has a different website at http://www.saintjohn.ws/ -- with a look that was probably lifted from Capitol.

Dave: I'm guessing that Saint John U may have thought that the legitimate distance learning info would give them some air of authority.
