I'm curious as to how relevant the IC flash cards are for this exam, especially when it comes to the sociology portion. There are no separate flash cards for this exam, and I don't think going to through the hundreds of US and world history flash cards will be of much help since I think the test is more general.

I started studying the REA book and "Cracking the CLEP" a few days ago. I'm in the process of reading "Don't Know Much About History". Believe it or not, my local library doesn't have any available books on general sociology, mostly just sub-genres.

I started using the flash cards yesterday, and I have memorized the first 51 questions of the sociology portion. Should I study it a bit more in depth. Or will that first 51 questions be sufficient?

    I would appreciate any input.

The SS & H exam is pretty easy. If you have a base knowledge of history and sociology, you should be able to pass. I did not study for this exam and I got a 60. Probably the easiest 6 credits that I received...

    Don't sweat it.

I've heard some conflicting feedback from those who have taken this exam. Some say it was difficult and others said they didn't have to study at all. I guess that holds true for every test, but it's difficult for me to gauge if I'm ready or not for this test because there are so many broad topics to cover. I scheduled the test for next Tuesday, so I have a week to brush up on a few things.

Do you happen to remember what the most difficult topics were on this test? I scored 35/59 on the test in the CLEP Official Study Guide.

I agree with this. It is more common sense and a very broad exam. I suggest you gauge yourself with a Peterson's practice exam or a practice test from a CLEP Study Guide. If you score more than half correct, then you should pass with no problems. I didn't study for this one either and passed.
    Good luck,
