For those of you who may not be familiar with the program, you can find information here: College for America

I'm proud to announce that 19 of my employees are enrolling in the program and are set to begin their studies on February 1st. I will act as their coach on the employer side of the partnership.

Programs like this one have the potential to change lives and I'm proud to be part of it. I hope an increasing number of employers take notice and choose to participate. I also hope an increasing number of universities implement similar programs. It's an innovative approach to learning and a great way to tackle the problem of unaffordable tuition rates.

Competency based and only $2,500 per year. Very impressive!

It's actually $1250 every six months, so one could conceivably complete all competencies in under 6 months and graduate for $1250. Even if it goes 18 months, $3750 with NO additional costs, even for books, is awesome. Additionally, a requirement of the program is that the employer provide deep subsidies to the student. In my case, we are paying for the first two 6-month terms, then providing partial reimbursement for subsequent terms, if needed. My hope is that all students graduate within 12 months so they never pay a dime.

The program looks good, but their website is confusing with very few details. Can anybody answer these questions please?
    - If someone (like me) does not get tuition reimbursement and has to pay out-of-pocket, can he register as an individual student (without going through the employer) and get the same tuition?
    - Is it just an associate degree, or there are other options?
    - What are the concentrations and programs available?

    1. No, the program must be a partnership with your employer.
    2. It is just an AA degree right now, but they're working on a BA launch.
    3. The degree is General Studies with an Emphasis in Business.

Thanks Pugbelly. Won't work for me, but a very good option nevertheless.

I could never get anyone from SNHU to get back with me. I would love to bring this to my hospital, but gave up when I couldn't get anyone to contact me.

Really? I have found them to be extremely responsive. If you send me a PM I can give you some direct phone numbers and email addresses.

oddly enough I tried again after I posted the above and got Lisa on the phone right away. We will be doing a webinar (hopefully) in early February.

    I'm glad you posted this!

Glad to hear it. Keep us posted on your efforts to get the program implemented within your organization. To date, I have been extremely impressed with the SNHU staff, the design of the program and the support they offer the students.

Hello all, Saw today that College for America announced a low cost BA. It will be great if they continue and work out a grad program. Hille
