I agree that there should be a public airing of the facts if the truth is in question, I just don't agree that a full blown trial is always the answer. Some States conduct Coroner Inquests, which examine the cause of a death (effectively a Probable Cause Hearing) and only go to trial if there is evidence to warrant it. A little less confrontational with the same results.
