Abner, yes, it is true that you enjoy watching "fake news." Shep Smith is a Fox News shill with a shrill voice. Open wide! Abner, please feel free to read these articles, which explain in lay terms how and why the U.S. Postal Service is delivering Amazon boxes well below its own costs: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/for-every-amazon-package-it-delivers-the-postal-service-loses-146 or http://archive.is/vHj7w or http://fortune.com/2017/07/16/amazon-postal-service-subsidy/ Taxpayers are paying for it, due to a loophole in U.S. Postal rules. However, that loophole is going to change. It is similar to when a foreign country dumps/sells steel (or whatever) on the global market for below market cost. The revenue is recouped in other ways. Nobody blames Amazon for taking advantage of the loophole, courtesy of the taxpayer, but it will nonetheless be stopped. You will never have a boring day, as long as President Donald J. Trump is in office.
I continue to think that snopes.com is the most trustworthy site on the Internet. Here's their detailed analysis of the President's Amazon/USPS claims = totally false. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/amazon-bankrupting-united-states-postal-service/
Dr. Bear, snopes.com is definitely a good website for investigating urban legends. Unfortunately, "fake news" has infiltrated snopes. Here is the verbatim biased headline from snopes: Is Amazon Bankrupting the United States Postal Service? No one claimed that Amazon is bankrupting the USPS. It's a red MSM herring. Here is the biased snopes statement that snopes conveniently answered: Amazon's use of the USPS for package delivery services has resulted in a severe financial loss to the Postal Service. It is not a "severe" financial loss -- but it is an operational loss -- which is paid for by tax dollars (instead of being paid for by Amazon). Here is the original statement, which snopes bastardized: The USPS is delivering Amazon's corporate packages at a loss, which taxpayers are paying for. Two things must be considered, with #2 being the most important to this discussion: Postal expenses (salaries, postal retirements, medical, dental, infrastructural maintenance, etc). The bigger question is whether or not a private corporation, such as Amazon, should be sufficiently charged-per-package, to stop the "transition hub loophole" i.e. taxpayers are paying for that $1.46 postal deficit e.g. taxpayers are paying to ship Amazon packages. Dr. Bear, thank you for tuning in.
You are just spewing the nonsense fake news that Trump is saying! Try doing so fact checking sometime. You guys are like parrots. Geez!
Not only does Congress require the Postal Service to fund a health fund in a way that no other government agency is required to do, there is no private sector company that does so either. Congress, through the 2006 law, requires the Postal Service to create the illusion of massive losses. nuff said.
Abner, that's a good point and that's why American patriots detest MSM "fake news" i.e. it's filled with ideological opinions and distorted facts. In the old days, journalists were trained to present just the facts -- and only the facts -- and then let viewers form their own opinions. However, MSM fake news is currently (4.6.18) filled with ideological mantras and opinion pieces . MSM fake news has two things that American patriots detest: #1. Ideological opinions that that are masqueraded as facts #2. Bold faced lies. Neither #1 nor #2 is financially sustainable (long-term) in a capitalistic society, which is why MSM revenues continue to decline, while other news outlets revenues are increasing and growing in popularity.
