Athabasca University is also accredited by Middle States, despite being north of America and located in the western part of Canada.

Middle States themselves seem to accredit programs primarily in the northeast. How did they get that name?!

It probably comes from Mid-Atlantic. Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, etc. are considered Mid-Atlantic while the states north of them are considered New England (NECHE). Of course, Maryland and Delaware used to be considered the South since they were slaves states up to the Civil War.

You didn't state it as an opinion. You asserted it as a fact. You can't have your assertion challenged and then just re-label it an opinion. An opinion isn't an unsupported assertion; an opinion is an assessment made when considering the facts.

As far as I know, most regional accreditation agencies accredit international schools.

"MSCHE conducts accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidacy status) activities for institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and any other geographic areas in which the Commission elects to conduct accrediting activities..."

As you will see on their website, MSCHE accredits schools in UAE, UK, and France, to name a few.

SACSCOC has accredited schools in UAE, Mexico, Costa Rica, and others.

WASC SCUC accredit schools in UAE, Canada, Czech Republic, and more.

Bulgaria, Greece, and Bermuda are among the countries where NECHE has granted accreditation.

NWCCU seems to only consider Canada, specifically British Columbia.

HLC seems to be the only one that doesn't consider schools outside of their 19-state region. On the other hand, they are the largest, so I guess that's understandable.

Florida State is #55 nationally and #19 among national public universities, and has several programs in top-20 (#1 Risk Management and Insurance).
