  1. In another thread -- http://www.degreeinfo.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001562.html -- I mentioned that SUI's website currently provides two U.S. mailing addresses and barely mentions Canada.

I've also run across this gem: http://www.erickson.edu/programs/1yearcoaching.html is the website of the "1-Year Solution Focused Coaching Diploma Program ...[which] may be taken concurrently with a MA or PhD program at Senior University." And "Senior University is a distance learning organization, based in Wyoming USA, which grants degrees through the US Department of Education."

    Oh really?

Actually, I read about Erickson's joint M.A program with SUI. I'm pretty sure I read it in the Buy & Sell paper, and it was on the same page with the Pickering International ad.

  5. Formerly the NLP Institute of BC -specialized since the 1980's in teaching Neurolinguistic Programming. Has been the major NLP training facility in the area since the 1980's. Is run by Marelyn Atkinson (M.A., registered psychologist). Some years back she began an operation called Erickson College, presumably after the late Milton Erickson, M.D. (medical/psychological hynotherapist extraordinaire). She may have changed the name to Erickson U. She has been putting on trainings in solution-focused counseling for some time. I think the solution-focused coaching is more recent (1-2 years). The angle may be that a qualifying degree is not needed for coaching, while counseling is usually needing a graduate degree. It is the same operation as NLP Insitute of BC but may be a different corporate entity.

  6. I understand that BC recently changed its regulations so that unaccredited schools cannot operate in BC. Hence, the lack of a BC address. SUI recenly announced on the "recognitions" section of its website that it now has preliminary accreditation from the South African Qualifications Authority - SAQA. I could find no recent reference on SAQA's site, but to speak fairly, I was short on search time. I understand that SUI has also been doing some educational business in SA.

    Earon,
    Thanks for the info.

    Timmy.

  8. That would be inside information (possibly an inside joke). The Buy and Sell is a local paper that consists solely of advertising used stuff. One can get great deals there, but I'm not sure if it applies to degrees (yuk-yuk).

Like Earon said, it's a paper full of classified ads. The ads range from cars, boats, tools, and now to unaccredited schools.
