Does anybody know of a reasonable school or programme by distance ed. for Jungian Psychoanalysis? It does not have to be a degree granting institution as long as it is recognised as an academically sound and ethical.

The instruction is required for personal growth and as a side bar to another academic programme.

It's not clear from your question if you are simply seeking a place to pursue a course or two or if you're seeking a degree. Nonetheless, you might want to look at Saybrook Graduate School or Naropa University. Good luck,

    Hi Ebbwvale,
The University of Sheffield offers an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies through distance learning. It seems to at least touch on Jungian analysis. I admit that I, at one time, was considering this program to gain a better understanding of those who own and support degree mills. I have now decided on an MBA for the same reason.

    Good luck,
    Tony

The best DL (actually short residency) option I know of in Jungian psychology is Pacifica Graduate Institute.

    http://www.pacifica.edu

Here's a webpage by one of Pacifica's professors that discusses Jungian graduate programs, providing an annotated list with links to a number of them. Most aren't DL though, and a few (including Univ. Philosophical Research. and Inst. Imaginal Studies) are CA-approved. I think that they all are reasonably credible though, and all are probably valuable to a student studying for personal interest.

Thanks for the information. I am researching victimology and I have undertaken some minor readings of psychoanalysis that have thrown some light on certain aspects.

I am not interested in practicing as a psychotherapist but I am interested in applying it to my original field of study in a limited way.

The award of a degree is not necessary but I would like to undertake a credible award from a reputable institution. A diploma or certificate would suffice for my purposes.

Once again thanks for the assistance.
