    Hello,

Does anoyone foresee if SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) will ever accredit 100% online degree granting institutions?

With Middelstates and Northcentral already doing so, it seems like SACS maybe lagging behind.

I did recently received an email from SACS claiming that may in fact accredit solely online universities and colleges, but no such school has taken on the challenge.

I'm challenging my school (Columbia Southern University) to take the first step to be the first 100% online school accredited by SACS, if SACS guidelines allow.

Both SACS and WASC are a bit backward when it comes to DL.
MSA and NCA are both fairly progressive about DL. '
Not sure about NEA and NWA.

Several SACS-accredited schools offer totally online programs, so I see the next logical step as accrediting an online school.

It will be a daunting challenge, for sure. American Military University moved to West Virginia, I suspect to get out of SACS' jurisdiction, and they are as strong a candidate for RA as I've seen.
