    Denzel's win

I didn't really follow the oscars too much this year (being my last week of school and all) BUT:
I assume that he won for Training Day.

    Did anyone see this film?

What did you think of it?

I haven't seen it, but I've been told that it's pretty good; the general vibe I'm hearing is that Denzel Washington earned his Oscar for Training Day about as much as Al Pacino earned his for The Scent of a Woman--yeah, the movie was credibly good, but the Oscar was awarded partly to make up for the number of times the actor had been overlooked by the Academy in the past.

    According to the Australian Press:

    1. Crowe was given a UK award that last went to Ms Collins and he told the Pom that was giving it to him to stick it up his a**e

    2. He made a speech that a bloke at BBC decided should be cut short at broadcasting and Crowe grabbed him by the b***s and shoved him against the wall and called him a @#*ing *)>#@
    }+?"!~ of a $#*&^

So none of that would have helped plus:

    3. For a while it has been touted here as coloured night - I saw it written on the dunny wall at one of the colleges I frequent.

    4. George Tree, sorry I mean Butch, sorry again, Bush, would have interfered, surely [??] and told them what to do.

    5. And in the words of the previous Prime Minister of Australia, we '...are at the arse end of the earth...' - that was just before he patted the Queens back that visit.

So Crowe missed and we don't give a *&^$#ing >?)@!~

Hey, Peter, where is my friend Paul Keating these days? I didn't agree with his politics, but he was one hell of an interesting character.
