I have been awarded a doctorate by Robertstown University. Until I produced my amateur radio certificate of 19 years they would only offer me a Masters degree. This obviously means that there is some quality assessment. The subject of the award is Information technology. this is not the only certificate I produced. I produced some IT soft skills certificates including Train the IT Trainer and Train the Trainer. I also produced some Open University course completion letter. This is in addition to all the other IT certificates I produced.

Wow! I must dig out my old Certificate of Bookkeeping so I can head up their Faculty of Accounting - after the bestowal of my doctorate, of course!

    Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer

It must also be mentioned that I also sent Robertstown a MCSE - Windows NT 4.0 Support Skills Certificate of Achievement from http://www.skillspride.com. this was amongst may other certificates presented by this IT training web site to Robertstown. It must be mentioned that the MCSE according to some is being presented as a 12-point Master's degree.

    Non-Traditional Education

Well to be honest with you my point is that students such as myself with a lot of experience and education are rejected by traditional universities as being overqualified. This happened to me when I applied to the local university.

Interesting!!!! OverQualified???? for what degree??? Have you applied to an legitimate unaccredited university? Why have diploma mill qualifications? I would rather have a qualifcation from an legitimate unaccredited university, than R.U!!!

And who supervised it? How did your defense go? Who was on the committee? Where are the results published?

    Re: Non-Traditional Education

I'm sorry sir, we would like to offer you a doctorate in Information Technology but you're obviously over qualified for a degree from Oxford. Here at Oxford we like to keep expectations low. That way people are not ever dissappointed in our graduates. Please keep us in mind if you ever suffer brain damage.

    Excuse me...

Everyone in this thread, please go read this thread.

Hey langdell, please stop coming here and posting the same diploma-mill-shilling threads in multiple places. If it's not a violation of the TOS, it should be.

I have a theory that a moderator moved the thread here from the general Distance Learning section. When langdell noticed that it was gone he started it up again in the Distance Learning section. This is only a theory though.

Ummm... I think -- and I could be wrong about this, but I think -- that with vBulletin when you move a thread it physically lives only in the place where it's moved to, leaving the link where it was moved from as a link to the new location, with the word "moved" next to it. At least that's my recollection from a long time ago when I ran a forum using a somewhat older version of vBulletin.

These are two distinctly different threads, started (we can tell by looking at the thread-starting posts in both cases) some 50 minutes apart, and each containing different subsequent posts (another thing that would not be the case had it been moved).

Hence, I believe it's safe to say that the thread-starter had an agenda (as if his content, alone, weren't clue-enough of that) which he believed could only be served by cluttering the forum with his pointness blather in not one but two -- count 'em, two -- places...

...you know... just in case someone missed it, or somethin'.
