Just a note of hope, James Carville has predicted that Trump’s administration will implode in 30 days. He suggests we just sit back and watch. ;)

You won't vote for Democrats even as Trump openly sides with Putin and allows an illegal immigrant from a sh#thole country Elon Musk to take a chainsaw to US government. Hence, you support Trump, who is an actual Fascist. Know your pronouns.

    quote:
“I believe that this administration, in less than 30 days, is in the midst of a massive collapse, and particularly a collapse in public opinion,” Carville told Mediaite’s Dan Abrams.

He said the signs are already there and pointed to a poll that found support among voters under the age of 30 plunged from 50% to 39% within two weeks.

“It’s collapsing right now,” he said. “We’re in the midst of a collapse.”

Lerner will probably never vote Democrat, especially not for President. Ukraine is way down on his list of important issues. Top half dozen items on his priority list is Israel.

Yes, and he thinks Trump wouldn't try to extort Israel for $500bn. How hilarious would it be when he does just that?

Yes that would be very hilarious!

I respond more on Israel and antisemitic issues because more posts here promote anti-Israel propaganda.
If you were to promote anti Ukraine propaganda, I would be more active on that as well. But the majority on this forum don't promote Russian propaganda.
I didn't expect the reverse on Ukraine policy, even do there were signs out there.

Is Trump just returning us to a bipolar global world order? From WWII through the fall of the Soviet Union, the U.S. did not interfere with Soviet crackdowns in the Eastern European states that lay within the Soviet "sphere of influence".

    Scary thought.

LOL. Germany's de-facto Chancellor-elect talks about "gaining independence from the United States". Trump's effecting Europe shaking off dependence on the States is akin to him losing WWII, 80 years after the fact. "Make America Irrelevant Again".

Last time we were waiting on the end of Trump-ordered delay (literally last year) meant lacking means to defend against russia's attacks on Odessa and Sumy. Injured and dead civilians. Your reaction is appalling (or using a technical term, "deplorable").

I understand that emotions run high on this issue, and I respect your passion for Ukraine’s defense. However, I want to clarify that I have always supported Ukraine and continue to do so.

If you are referring to a specific delay in military aid, I’d be happy to look into it further. However, it’s important to differentiate between political decisions, logistical challenges, and the direct actions of Putin’s forces. If you have specific sources regarding the impact of any delay, I am open to reviewing them.

Ultimately, our shared goal should be supporting Ukraine in the best way possible, and I believe that diplomatic efforts, along with continued military assistance, are key to ensuring a just resolution to this war.

Let’s keep the discussion constructive, focusing on facts and solutions rather than personal attacks.

    Opinion:
    Europe’s Empty Promises on Ukraine

Putin launched a war that has claimed anywhere from 110,000 to 500,000 lives—perhaps even more. The true toll remains unknown.

For three years, Ukraine has fought for survival in the maw of the Russian bear while Europe, Canada, and the U.S. praised Ukrainian courage yet failed to provide sufficient military and financial support to secure victory.

While Europe has contributed more than the U.S. in total aid, its commitment remains inadequate. Even the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, which tracks aid to Ukraine, highlights that donor nations—especially in Europe—have provided only minimal support relative to their capabilities.

Germany, for instance, spends three times more per year on tax subsidies for diesel fuel than on military aid for Ukraine, according to the Kiel Institute’s Christoph Trebesch.

“When looking at the government budgets in most European donor countries, Ukraine aid over the last three years looks more like a minor political ‘pet project’ rather than a major fiscal effort.”

Worse still, Europe’s long-standing neglect of defense spending has left it reliant on U.S. protection while failing to prepare for threats from the east. Some voices now call for defense budgets to rise to 5% of GDP, recognizing the urgent need for military readiness.

Rewarding Russia’s aggression with territorial concessions will not bring peace—it will invite future wars. Europe must do more than offer words of support. It must act decisively to prevent further bloodshed and defend the principles it claims to uphold.
Yet the front lines remain largely static, resembling a war of attrition reminiscent of World War I trench warfare.
Let's hope the United States manages to shepherd this mess to a lasting and just peace.
