Regis University was suggested in my earlier post asking about UMUC and Capitol. I have since done a fair amount of research and am just about ready to enroll in the Regis MSCIT with an emphasis on software engineering. I would appreciate any opinions, reviews, or information anyone might have regarding Regis or this program, especially any current students or graduates.

    Program details:

    What I liked:

    • - US News top 50 of western colleges
      - Software Engineering emphasis
      - .Net courses
      - 8 Weeks terms
      - Online Classroom User Interface
      - Limited admission requirements
      - Limited prerequisites
Thanks for earlier suggestion and for any input now!

Looks like a great program, I wish I could give more feedback.

I do not recall knowing anyone at Regis ....

    Best of luck!

I just started the program on March 6th, so I can't give a whole lot of information, but I'm very happy with it to date. I had a small problem with the bookstore getting me the book for the first class on time, but that was because I wasn't planning on starting until the May session, but they extended the application deadline and I figured I'd go ahead and start earlier.

It's definitely a nice change from the University of Phoenix experience. Instead of doing a lot of essentially trivial postings, I'm doing fewer posts and assignments, but with higher standards applied. Plus, the quality of the other students is a bit higher than what I'm used to. I don't hit any of the software engineering core classes until I think July, unfortunately.

One nice thing is that you can see the first week assignments and book listings for the online courses without being a student, to get an idea of the requirements. Once you're registered, you can download the entire "module" they use for ground classes, although a lot of the SE ones are incomplete and I've found that the online course doesn't match precisely.

The actual delivery of the courses is very well done, too. All in all, I recommend it with the reminder that I'm only four weeks in, so take that for what it's worth.

Thanks for the info and insight.
I started the application process yesterday.
We may end up in some classes together!
Appreciate you're mentioning Regis in my first post.
This program fits what I wanted very well.
And .. my boss likes it well enough to pay!

    Good luck!

No problem. I have to thank the good people here, since if I hadn't stumbled across this site while trying to do research for the decision, I likely wouldn't have found it... if only I'd known about the site before finishing the undergrad at UoP.
