I'm looking for an RA DL (preferably online) course in Real Estate Appraisal.

LSU independent study offers the Principals and Practices (Basic Real Estate Salespersons) course but is not accepting registrations right now do to course revisions.

I need some business electives and I'm looking for an appraisal course from an RA that will get me three hours of electives and actually have practical benefits (liscensure) in addition to the RA hours.

Tests are NO good for my purposes since I need the RA hours to qualify to sit for Louisiana CPA test.

I searched Excelsior's course database which returned nothing. If there is any such course out there I KNOW somebody here will know about it!

    Thanks in advance!

Marylhurst University has an online undergrad program in real estate. So they should have a course in Appraisal. I don't now when it is offered or for how much.

Real Estate Appraisal licensing requirements are going to vary slightly from state-to-state. For the practical benefit, you will also need considerable supervised experience and generally more than one course.

It used to be that one merely hung a shingle and could be an appraiser -- working toward certifications of higher level a little at a time. Since about 15 years ago, all of the states have been licensing appraisers and many of the courses for that licensure are taught at the community college level as vocational/technical courses.

As a bit of useful knowledge RE appraisal technique can be applied to all sorts of valuation problems since RE appraisers use a variety of valuation methods in their work.
