The University of Australasia (briefly mentioned in this thread) is an entity that is registered as an International Business Company (IBC) in the bogus principality of Hutt River Province, Australasia. With no link or url being provided, it is listed along with such other “mills in waiting” as
    • American Cultural University Co. Limited
    • Dargo College and University Ltd
    • Johnson Davids University Inc.
    • International ELearn University Limited
    • Millennium International University, LLC
    • Australasia International University Inc.
    • Hutt River University Ltd.
Two of the entities listed as being registered in Hutt River Province, Australasia have been operational for some time and should be familiar to DegreeInfo members:
    • Pebble Hills University (Is the fact the Web site is registered to Pebble Hills Elementary in any way indicative of the level of education offered by this entity?)
    • Southern Pacific University (C’mon, be honest, did you know Saint Kitts and Nevis was in the South Pacific?)
What leads me to believe The University of Australasia is about to begin operations?

First, although a Web site has not been yet created, The University of Australasia now has an url, the familiar http://www.distance-degree.net/ :p . Second, another Web site has created a link (perhaps the only link) to this site.

Who could be so knowledgeable about the inner workings of degree mills that they actually link to an entity before the Web site is even created?

I will tell you, but you must promise to first go to the bathroom to avoid the possibility of any accidents. Yes, I am certain you will laugh that hard. :D :D :D

    OK. Ready?

The individuals that are so intimately familiar with the inner workings of degree mills that they can link to one before it is even operational are none other than the friendly folks from Marquess University (see here). :D

Those familiar with the past shenanigans (which include such degree mills as, St. Regis University, Knightsbridge University, and Claremont University, among many others) of John Kersey and Sheila Danzig, the principals involved with the recently discussed Marquess University, are, of course, not surprised at all. Sheila (who always seems to be involved with new and innovative ways of creating the illusion of some kind of legitimacy) has demonstrable ties to other entities that have claimed to be registered and or located in one bogus principality or another (Hutt River Province, Seborga, etc.).

And before this thread gets hijacked and a sea of obfuscatory posts claim that the link and the the fact that both Marquess’ and The University of Australasia’s Web sites block access via robots.txt are mere coincidences, it should be noted that both Marquess University (supposedly in London, more than likely Florida) and The University of Australasia (anyone care to wager that it is nowhere near Australasia?) also share the same Web hosting service in Houston, Texas, USA. :p

Shall we start a pool to see how fast that link is removed from http://www.marquess-education.com/resources.html ?

    :D :D :D

    Re: Where?

    Silly question.

If Saint Kitts and Nevis is in the South Pacific, then it stands to reason that Australasia is somewhere in the in the Caribbean. :D

    OMG

Dear Gus, I really like the Princess Shirley of the Principality... Oh My God, my Great-Grandfather just served icecubes in Hell. And: I didn't know the British did not claim all of Australia. REAL Question: Do these people really make money? Or is it an ego thing? Yours Truly, Nikolas Horthy

    Funny Gus, Funny Mr Horthy!

For a brief serious moment (like gas it will pass): this Southern Crass Non-iversity does NOT, repeat NOT have accreditation from the Goverment of St Kitts and Nevis, FWTW. See link: http://www.stkittsnevis.net/accreditation.html

It should be pointed out that the bad old days of SKN crapola under the PAM government are over. Dr Douglas has cleaned things up. (No, not THAT Dr Douglas.)

However, the government of Nevis--translated, Premier Amory, 4 chickens, and a bait shop--dabbles in crapola. Anything from Nevis should be regarded with as much seriousness as anything from Wyoming, and for closely analogous reasons. Why does the national government tolerate this stupidity? Well, there is the constant threat of secession by Nevis in SKN. Why the US government tolerates Wyoming's shenanigans is difficult, since Wyoming is not threatening to secede and nobody would much care if it did. And Oz and Hutt River bullroar?

Note: with that question the brief serious moment is over.

Be glad degreeinfo hasn't got smellavision.

    Merry Janko

I think that the thread title should be changed from "Ready to Pop" to "Ready to Plop" as in a smelly plop.

Beat you to it, George Brown!

I hasten to add that THIS Southern Cross University is totally legitimate and in Australia:
    http://www.scu.edu.au/index.php

Are the Sheilas (note capitalisation) so dense as to try the soundalike name trick, or are they just, in the immortal words of Screamin' Jay Hawkins, ignant and sh*t?

    No wonder stuff disappears.

Quite an interesting start. I did a little search, and Hutt River province only charges like $1,500 to 'license' such a school. What a deal!
