Anyone care to predict any of the 2010 Pulitzer winners? The winners will be announced on 04/12 at 3PM.

I doubt they will but I think "The National Enquirer" should win for its investigative reporting of the John Edwards affair. Most of the national media took a near-tacit view of the story.

That would be an interesting choice! The story was definitely a public service.

Do you have a link to the list of nominees?

We don't get to know who they were until after the winners are announced.

Hmmmm. So I only have to make a single choice from everything that's been written by anyone in the USA within the past year? No problem. ;)

I'm not proud of it but I have to admit that I've never read any of these works. It's the 2010 Pulitzer winners:

I'm always surprised. I like how they keep everything secret until the end. They make a good reading list...I'll probably start with the Vanderbilt bio. There are also some interesting works among the finalists, including a new bio of Woodrow Wilson.

I am delighted that the cartooning Pulitzer went to Mark Fiore -- the first non-print winner and, I think, the first self-syndicated winner.

Fiore creates often delightful 45-second to 2-minute editorial cartoons, which run regularly on the SF Chronicle's sfgate.com and, I think, elsewhere.

Here's one example, on big business and the deficit:

    Fiore!

I concur with Dr. Bear! Fiore's stuff is timely AND hilarious and I am impressed he won a Pulitzer, as well.
