    Happy Thanksgiving all!

I am still trying to wade through all the information out there on online psych programs. I have a friend who teaches at Argosy in Chicago and he is pushing me to go for their online Psy.D program in clinical. At 2000 a class I am having a hard time with it.
Any opinions on their program? What about Union Institute and University? I know there is always Capella and Walden...How do they all compare?

    Thanks

The only APA-approved distance learning doctoral program in applied psychology is offered through the Fielding Institute. I've been a licensed psychologist for 20+ years and my advice is to make sure you are trained in APA-approved programs. This includes internship as well as doctoral program. I strongly encourage aspiring psychologists to read the articles by Bridget Murray and John Grohol in the February, 1999 edition of the Monitor which are available online at the APA website. This topic has been discussed at length on Degreeinfo and since I usually offer a comment one way to access the old treads is to do a search on my name.

But Argosy's Chicago program is listed as APA approved!?

    I'm so confused.
Perhaps a school can be on the APA list for their B&M program, not their on line program?

Also, in pursuing a master's in psychology, why does every discussion I've read default to a discussion on the doctorate?

From what I gather, you must have a doctorate to pursue a career as a counselor in most states. So is the strategy for D/L to get the master's online and do a B&M doctorate?

    Thanks for any help.
