I recieved this interesting email on Friday. Sadly, I won't be done with my undergrad work at Park until July. Maybe someone else can take advantage of this offer.

    Dear Marnie,

Walden is currently developing a special research study to evaluate the student experience from inception to graduation. This program is open only to a select group of individuals interested in the M.S. in Psychology program. Individuals who enroll in the M.S. in Psychology program to start March 28, 2005, and are willing to participate in our Student Experience Evaluation Study will receive a tuition reduction of up to 50% during the duration of the program.

To take advantage of this exciting opportunity, we must hear from you shortly—the application deadline is approaching quickly and only a limited number of students will be accepted.

Please contact me at [email protected] or 800-460-6701, ext. 2816, for details about participating in this study. I look forward to helping you earn your degree at Walden University.

    Sincerely,

    Andy Dillard

    Walden's "study offer"

Funny, I just sent an application to Walden -- specifically for their MS in Psychology program -- and there was NO MENTION of this "study" at all. Hmmm....

Incidentally, that start date is March 7, not March 28th. Now I really wonder about this school's admissions tactics (see my March 5 posting inquiry).

    Hmmm...

That's really weird. Are you certain it's not some kind of weird practical joke or attempt at ID theft? Sounds too good to be true, but if it is, what a deal.
