I haven't checked everything here. Some may have front-pages in English yet not offer courses in English. If you're interested, here are some sites to start with - and make your own value judgments. Some of you may be familiar with Mastercursos in Spain. Through them, you can get a "Máster Universitario" - usually 64 ECTS - for very little money - backed by a good school. Quite a wide choice. I just found a Portuguese language "Mastercursos" - different outfit - in Brazil - São Paulo. If you're a Lusophone, * have a look. https://mastercursospirai.com/ * If you know what "Lusophone" means, you probably are one.
You've GOT Spanish. You're started -- whether you know it or not. You'll recognize an awful lot words right away.
Unless I'm missing something, it looks like everything is hybrid. I don't see any pure distance courses.
Really? I see "EAD o presencia" (distance or in person) all over the place and things like "Cursos Técnicos em geral EAD" (Technical courses in general Distance Learning), "Hoje, Atendemos todo BRASIL, Com nossos cursos EAD" (Today, we serve all of Brazil with our Distance Learning courses). "Presencia o EAD" (In person or Distance) .... I don't think everything is hybrid. Not from what they say, plus they only have two locations - those won't "serve all Brazil" as they claim to so, in person. It's HUGE. Plus - a lot of courses are around 110 reales. $20. Must be distance.
I looked at a few that said "if you don't have an EAD center near you..." which implied that it's kind of like CLEP exams: study the course, take the exam in a testing center somewhere.
I couldn't find anything that even implied this, Rachel. Certainly nothing that came out and said you had to go anywhere for exams. In fact, they DO have some courses available at the Centres - but I could find nothing that said, for the distance courses, that you had to go there - ever. In fact I could find NOTHING even about exams - of any kind... I know you can register by whatsapp - they say so. And they use Blackboard and another popular distance ed package - I forget. For $20 I don't expect they have proctored exams. I suspect, like Alison, and other low-cost platforms, the tests are embedded in the course and are auto-marked instantly. This is all - or pretty well all not degree-stuff, despite the name. If you can give me a page reference on this I'd appreciate it. This is beginning to be fun. "I'm learning Portuguese, I think I'm learning Portuguese, I really think so..." (Apologies to the Vapors - "I'm Turning Japanese.")
I should add - I DID get to the associated "Cruzeiro do Sul Virtual" (Virtual Southern Cross) pages somehow - and there is degree stuff there - by distance. And yes, you probably have to write the exams at one of THOSE centres - they have 1300 of them -- all in Brazil. But for the "Mastercursos" ones - I don't think so. Not for $20. And they seem to be teaching me Portuguese - for free. I like that!
Ah ha, I read it incorrectly. See: https://www.cruzeirodosulvirtual.com.br/cursos-livres/a-psicologia-cognitiva-no-ensino-infantil/
Mystery solved! Thanks. And "Southern Cross" constellation (as I wrote) is also "Cruzeiro do Sul" in Portuguese. Google knows this too, but can't differentiate between the two meanings. We can. You and me, Rachel - we know WAY more than Google.
Haha, yeah, when I was younger, I wanted to learn a few languages, but only got the chance to stick with French... Nice signature BTW, brings back the memories... that's so many gaming consoles you've owned before! Wow!
