With "grumpy old fart" in there I should have been allowed more than one choice.

Quibble: capitalizing the options more indicates political parties than political persuasions.

How is this for my political view?

Fiscally very conservative, and I hate the redistribution of wealth. For a flat tax, or national sales tax. If you buy more you pay more, if not you pay less.

I am for registering all guns, and confiscating all that are not. A law-abiding citizen should not mind.

Big on defense. As with martial arts it is nice to be prepared to kick A though you hope you will not have to.

Against tobacco, and smoking in public places such as restaurants. If you want to destroy you lungs by smoke do not take me with you. It is unnatural to breath smoke, and makes no sense to me.

Against abortion. A fetus should not be killed because a person is too lazy or irresponsible to put on a raincoat, or take a pill. There are way too many abortions in America just because they can.

For conservation. We waste entirely too much of everything. We are cutting down too many trees, so these long distance companies can have the paper to send me junk mail that I trash daily.

Against NAFTA. We have to blame the idiots on both sides for that one.

For accountability in schools, and government spending on social programs. The answer to everything isn't to throw money at it.

For legal immigration. I think it is a good thing to let people come here, but I think it should be legal and fair. It is not right to let middle eastern and Asian people come, and go here legally, and make Mexicans sneak into the country. It should be a fair process.

For limits on campaign contributions. Why in the hell do they have to spend 200 million on a 200,000 a year job?

Against trail lawyers. Nothing has hurt our society more than ambulance chasers, and trial lawyers. It is one thing to sue when you are wronged, but when two chicks from Florida get a wad of money for suing Joe's Crab Shack for denying them a job that they never even applied for the judiciary is screwed up.

For going after the greedy corporate executives that screw the employees out of their pension when buying 40 million dollar homes. The scum of the earth IMHO.

I voted for the Democratic Gov. of SC who lost, and Republican for most of the State Reps. I voted independent in the last three elections for Pres. I do not dislike Bush, but I just could not vote for him. I would have voted for McCain, but Pat Robinson got the flock to run him out.

I could go on, but I guess this would put me in the middle. :D

I don't live in the U.S. but I do support the Republican Party. It only makes sense when you live in a province run by incompetent "bleeding heart socialists".

You mean the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario??

What do you call the socialists?? Better yet, maybe I don't want to know.

Ernie Eves who thinks he's a Conservative, acts like a Communist, makes decisions like a Liberal and rules like an Anarchist. Confused yet??

Voted Republican but consider myself moderate in the Rockefeller-Romney-Percy-Whitman-Collins-Snowe tradition.

I generally vote Democratic in national elections, but have been known to vote for moderate Republicans at the state level (Thad Cochran always gets my vote; Trent Lott never does).

    Cheers,

Thad Cochran is excellent. I lived in Mississippi when he ran. He ran in the primary agains Charles Pickering and beat Maurice Danton in the primary. Too bad Dantin never won any major office. I think he would have been pretty moderate. Had I lived in Mississippi during the Cochran-Winter race I would have been really torn. Both are great men!
