I think that is great, and wish you well. Maybe they will get the DETC, and it will work out great for you. I may not be too old yet, but I am with you on the don't know any better!
Scott: There you go again. You made great claims for the quality of your education and the caliber of the school you chose. You immediately got testy with anyone who disagreed with you. Another poster (k5fk) characterized a basic secondary-school competence as a sort of social frill. You again blamed my negative response upon prejudice, and claimed hurt feelings over my negative response to someone else. If you want to learn how to defend a substandard school, there is another poster doing so on another thread with much worse English than yours. He, however, is capable of civil discourse and reasoned argument--frilly, fluffy capabilities though they may be.
You must now look out your window, watching for the degree police, be prepared for tick-tick-tick-BANG. Who are you trying to fool with this phoney degree? You could have done better. You must be a lazy bum-a fool- an idiot-unemployable. This degree has no utility and is a complete waste of time. There is simply no excuse for this sub-standard degree. AW !!! that felt good!!! Just kidding of course, welcome to the pit of no return.
No, not guilty, not my statement. You have confused me with another, but no problem, you simply made a mistake, not an indicator of your education or memory, I'm sure.
I hope the program meets your needs, Dennis. Choosing a school based on the possibility that they will become accredited is a risky venture, but I believe CCU stands a better chance than many at achieving this goal. The only problem I see is that if your degree is issued before CCU is granted DETC approval to grant doctoral degrees (a far more riskier proposition than mere accreditation), your degree will forever be one granted by an unaccredited school. This would be true even if CCU were granted accreditation for all of their other programs. I, for one, would not like to be tempted to simply list a doctoral degree and allow a school’s accreditation for Bachelors and Maters degrees obscure the fact that my doctorate was unaccredited.
Truth hurts? You show me where I have defended the caliber of the school I chose. I have been honest about it, and why I chose it. I think you have me confused with someone else. Many disagreed with me that I never got testy with. If you show me civil discourse I will do the same. Have a wonderful day. Scott
No, truth does not hurt, nor do your statements. You say repeatedly that I am prejudiced, or include me in a group that you so label. Do I care? Not personally, but I would prefer that some innocent reader of this forum not be misled by your random accusations into accepting your unsubstantiated views on unaccredited schools, mills, Liberia, etc. You say that I "grade" your posts in order to humiliate you. I do not believe that someone who defends SRU and KW, and who is at times threatening and combative with those who disagree, can be humiliated by anything I would ever say.
I liked the school to start with and the DBA, should I be fortunate enough to complete, would have no career implications. I am too cranky to work for anyone other than myself. The CCU DBA was/is course based with no dissertation, which could bring up other questions. While I can certainly pass courses, one at a time, I simply would not have the fortitude to spend 2 or 3 years doing research and writing a business dissertation with an uncertain outcome. Anything's possible, but I think they must be fairly sure about DETC accreditation, having dropped their profitable doctoral degrees. The DETC accreditation of doctorates is pie-in-the-sky, pure speculation. I have 3, 4, or even 5 years to finish and whatever happens is fine. One outcome is certainly preferable to the other.
I have never, never, never defended SRU, and do not at all care about Liberia. I do not know anything about SRU. You must have me confused with someone else. I never included you in any group, until now. Now, I think you are a part of the regular group that go after anyone who has, or is in favor of an unaccredited degree. It doesn't matter how nice a person is when they come here, if accreditation is the issue they will be treated rudely. Some of your cronies in other threads have just made spelling errors, but you will not mention it to them. I would be willing to bet on this. That to me is the double standard. Have I been threatening? I think not, but you can have your opinion. Have I been combative? Yes, but only when provoked. Anyone who has been cordial to me in disagreement received the same in return. Regards, Scott
Dennis: I think it is a good move. If you ever go to work for someone else what is the likely hood someone will check to see if your degree was started before the accreditation date.
"And also with you." And as I said to driver this morning who was indicating his opion of my driving: "And also with you." Also remember: "God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love."
Wait a minute! You’re in favor of unaccredited degrees? How did I miss that? What unaccredited institutions do you favor?
Wait a minute! Are you actually advocating and extolling the virtues of subterfuge? Why am I not surprised?
Gus: Do you think what Dennis is doing is wrong, or bad? I look at it like he is getting in on the ground floor at a start up! Great Timing!
To state whether I believe what Dennis is doing is wrong or bad would be a judgment call. I try to refrain from expressing judgmental opinions; instead, I strive to stick to the facts. I can, however, note that instead of getting in on a ground floor, start up opportunity, it seems more like a last ditch effort to exploit a potential loophole.
Why, Scott, you've never been more eloquent. Perhaps you should stick to expressing yourself pictorially.
