A CPA makes about 150K in Canada after 10 years of experience, the same for CS and Engineering. The 100K assistant professor after 6 years of education is not very appealing. However, it does not mean that any PhD in CS or Accounting will make it. Schools still expect solid PhDs. Most Universities would rather hire a foreign PhD from a solid Foreign school than a local PhD from Harrison or similar school. At my University, most Accounting professors come from prestigious traditional residential European schools. It is not very likely that a PhD from Walden in Accounting would make it even if there is a shortage.

Harrison has the accreditation issue. Walden has a reputation issue. If you earn an online DBA or PhD from a traditional school or even a somewhat non-traditional school with no reputation, there should be plenty of options. Baker College is a brick and mortar, non-profit college that is geared toward adult learners. Some of their DBA graduates are in full-time positions at public universities.
