So what say you guys... How good would the CAPM be if I go for that first, and then go for the PMP.

I am not sure how much effort I have to put into passing the PMP. I only know that I qualify for the exam...

Since you qualify for the PMP exam, my recommendation is to take it rather than mess around with the CAPM. My usual benchmark: go to monster.com and search on the CAPM and/or the PMP.

Search the threads for the PMP designation, if needed do the google thing to get old threads:

The only folks I recommend to do the CAPM are those that can't sit for the PMP, nor attain some academic qualification, undergraduate/graduate/or skill certification from a reputable university/source.

I just believe the CAPM to be a money maker for PMI and of limited value since the qualification actually is a testimony to the level of experience that one doesn't possess in this area.

I believe your background and study habits put you in good shape to pass the PMP with your usual alacrity.

If you qualify to sit for the PMP--go for the gold and don't mess with the CAPM. I went straight to the PMP and had no problems--but I studied extensively. There are enough study guides and materials to help you study and pass.
