Opinions: Grade Scale

    Well, I received a response from this instructor. He said that he thought about it since it was so close to a 90%, but decided to keep it at a 'B' because "I could always go back and critique your papers more thoroughly which would lead to a lower score overall". Nice guy....

    Where I teach an 89.9% is a B - period. I used to be able to adjust and I would round up 1 point. No more. The score is the score. Sorry, but sometimes it is just the policy.

    In my master's program, 94% was required for an A and 91% was the bottom for an A-. Maybe they are so strict because their percentage requirements are a little lower than average? It still sucks though.

    I think a 90 at AMU is an A- and an A starts at 92 or 93.

    At UIS it's the same thing, 93+ is an A, 90-92.999... an A-, and so on. Personally, I'm with those that are saying the grade is the grade. It sucks, but it's also life.
