Online MBA No Entrance Exam & No exams during course

Hi,
I know this is not a new topic but all the info I found in this website is outdated many of the B Schools change their programs.
Im Bachelor and I work as GM abroad. My work require that I travel often. I have no problem with writing papers instead of having exams and I'm fine writing a final thesis and projects. In the past I start an MBA online but I fail to finished because I couldn't be there for the examination or I didn't have time to prepare for the examination so all my time and money went to the trash.

I'm looking for a Online MBA program with no exams. I would love to know, price, duration, TOFL is need it? and if they have some kind of accreditation.

I read online that the following schools don't have exams but all that info was outdated. I contact the schools and this what they told me. Im still waiting for other schools to reply.

There was a time when Western Governors University did not have exams. It was all papers and projects. That has changed. Now most of the classes have proctored exams. Some are SOLELY proctored exams, others are proctored exams AND projects/papers.

You may want to check out Northcentral University. IIRC, a forum member here (ryoder) completed an MBA fairly quickly with most/all of it being papers.

 

One question, though.

If you are not a strong writer in the English language, why would you want an MBA program that is 100% writing papers?

 

mcjon77 , thank you for your help. I have no problems writing in English. English is not my mother tongue but I have no problems writing in English. I can do the course also in Spanish/French but I couldn't find any good online MBA programs in this language.

 

Edinburgh Business School's distance learning MBA not only has exams, as you correctly identify, it's assessed entirely by exam. The generic MBA has 9 courses, MBAs with specialisms (in strategic planning, finance, marketing, or HRM) have 11 courses.

You describe an offline MBA from the "University of Texas." With the University of Texas, as with many U.S. universities, you have to be careful about the name. When "University of Texas" is used on its own to refer to a school that grants the MBA, that most correctly refers to the University of Texas at Austin.

Now, the University of Texas at Austin is the flagship of the University of Texas System. There are eight other general-purpose universities with "University of Texas" in the name – for example, the University of Texas at Dallas – that have entirely separate faculties, curriculums, admissions standards, accreditation statuses, etc. (On accreditation status, all are regionally accredited, but some may have hold different specialized accreditations or not, etc. On top of those 9 general-purpose universities, there are 6 health science universities in the system.

So if you were following up a reference to a "University of Texas" online MBA without exams and all you found was an offline MBA with lots of exams, you might have been looking at the wrong member of the University of Texas System.

Didn't Bears' Guide to the Best MBAs by Distance Learning mention some UK-based MBA degree that was entirely by papers (no exams)?

 

Remember that in the U.K., "papers" is often a synonym for exams. (Via a shortening of "examination papers.")

Yes, WGU just changed their MBA Program structure. OP it's going to be hard to find a MBA program with just "papers" right now.

I'd still consider checking on the Georgia WEBMBA. What they specifically say on the website is:

One might take this as meaning that those who are accepted into the program that live outside of the Continental US may not have to worry about attending the orientation. Doesn't hurt to ask, right?

(My understanding is that exams are offered at many locations around the world - it would seem to me that you could find time to take an exam every few months (like you might for other appointments).
