    Hi guys,

My apologies if this has been covered already.

I wish to find the cheapest online doctorate/PhD preferably in the Asia region. (doesn't have to be)

I currently have a MBA and wish to progress for a small salary bump.

My budget is tight, as I don't get a good salary here at a Thai university.

Many thanks in advance for any pointers.

Have you looked at Asia Pacific University in Malaysia's Ph.D in Management? The entire program cost RM38,500($8,955). Trips between Thailand and Malaysia is low cost too, so you could conduct in campus researches.

If you're Thai, there is a Thai-language PhD in Public Administration at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. However, tuition is set at 105,000 Thai Baht/semester (roughly 3,250 US Dollars per semester). Yet, I don't see a minimum number of semesters.

The Open University of Malaysia has a DBA on offer for 32,554 Malaysian Ringgit (roughly 7770 US Dollars).

Wawasan Open University, in Malaysia, offers a DBA for a total price of 41,600 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately 10,000 US Dollars total).

Still in Malaysia, Asia e-University has a PhD in Business Administration. Exact tuition is not listed.

In the Philippines, AMA University offers a DBA. The website says the degree takes 2.5 years to complete at a cost of 97,000 Philippine Pesos per year. If their numbers are up-to-date and accurate, that comes out to 242,500 Philippine Pesos for the full degree (or roughly 4,130 US Dollars).

If you're willing to branch out a bit, there's the oft-discussed Upgrad DBA (in partnership with Edgewood University in the United States). For those resident in Thailand, the listed price is 10,000 US Dollars.

Acacia University, a nationally accredited university in the US, offers a DBA for 12,000 US Dollars.

I hope that helps to get you started!

Just for the sake of completeness:

IIC Cambodia offers online degrees through some providers. They are, sometimes, quite cheap. I know next to nothing about the worth of these institutions.

Since we're showing Malaysia so much love today, I wouldn't want to forget GlobalNXT University and its DBA.

    https://globalnxt.edu.my/our-programmes/doctor-of-business-administration

Fees are currently listed at 6,850 US Dollars total.

That's a new name for me. Got a link or two for some of these offerings? I did a quick search but didn't see much in terms of online options, but perhaps my Khmer skills are just a bit rusty. :D

Thanks, contacted GlobalNxT. Keep them coming guys. Doesn't have to be Asia based. The cheapest accredited is the goal. Thanks.

Sent an email to IIC. Will wait for a response regarding price. :)

I apologize, but I prefer not to. I am not sure how reputable these offerings are, and I do not want to 'endorse' them by posting a link.

Does anyone have any further tips for affordable online PhD programs from universities in the Western world?

My understanding (could be wrong) is that Michael is doing his PhD at IIC University of Technology (through GradXs platform) under the supervision of one of the Forge faculty members with a PhD. Maybe Michael could confirm whether this is correct.

That's correct. Dr. Dalcour is supervising me. Great experience thus far. And yes, we've got a deal with IIC for both the MA and PhD. A few deciding factors: We had a few students/alums who had requested an accredited degree pathway; I've seen about a dozen recent credential evaluations from NACES orgs that universally looked favorably on IICUT; we liked both programs; and after reviewing our graduate faculty, they agreed to permit our faculty to supervise both graduate theses and PhD students.

Open University of Kenya. That is a real bargain. Do you know if they are research based or course based?
