    Hi there,

I've been a developer of wind & solar farms for the past eight years, and I'm in a Director level role at the moment. The issue is that I've received quite a bit of interest from US companies; however, I can't pursue any of the opportunities because I didn't complete my Bachelor's degree and I wouldn't be able to get a visa. When I was in my 20's I completed all but three courses of my Bachelor of Commerce degree from a Canadian University. I couldn't finish it at the time because of health issues, and when I finally went back to complete it, I discovered that it was too late because it had been more than ten years since I had enrolled. So I've been looking into MBA programmes where I could be admitted based on the course work I have completed in addition to my professional experience. One of the programmes that I came across was the MBA with a focus on Energy and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria. My goals are to 1) obtain a degree so I can be open to accepting a position with an American company (not necessarily to move there though); and 2) to obtain a degree with an area of focus related to renewable energy and business; and 3) to complete a degree to satisfy a long-standing personal goal of mine.

My question is do you think that the MBA with a focus on Energy and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria would meet my needs? Do you have any other recommendations?

    Do you have a budget?

Edinburgh Business School would accept people with no bachelor's degree.

    Warwick Business School

University of London's MBA program accepts people with 3 or more years of work experience

I think the most prestigious MBA program that's offered via DL from UK is Imperial College

You'll have to contact them to check if they can accept you.

Thanks nyvrem, I appreciate all of the valuable information you provided. In terms of budget, I'm hoping to keep it under $20,000 CDN because I'm paying for it myself and I have to factor in the year of salary I'll be missing out on. I realize that this is a severely limiting factor; however, I have a mortgage to pay and a family to care for. I guess this means that none of the schools you suggested are options for me.

Do you know whether or not the University of Cumbria is accredited? I couldn't find any information on their website in this regard.

    Regards,

RFK College, an historic degree mill in Switzerland, has been advertising that degrees for studying with them are being issued by University of Cumbria. This comports with a long tradition in which U.K. universities "endorse" programs from outside schools, granting their own degrees to the students.

If the program you are looking at is directly from Cumbria, it's probably legit. If the program is through RFK College, I would avoid it like the plague.
