I liked el-Rais Ibn Bush's joke about the book "in bookstores near you next week". So did el-Rais Clinton. Then Senator Clinton spoke about those who were STILL in public life (dig dig gouge gouge). I thought the two presidents were a lot nicer to each other than the two Clintons. Two other things: The portrait is impressive. And President Clinton was awake during the ceremony. What's Ibn Bush? "Son of Bush" in Arabic. It cracked me up a couple weeks ago listening to some bilingual press conference where the (respectful) speaker first said "Pres. Bush 41 and Pres. Bush 43" and then said "el-Rais Bush wa el-Rais Ibn Bush". Somehow I now have an image of GHWB skydiving in a jallabiyeh.
The picture of President Clinton is very nice. President Bush's comments regarding Clinton's presidency were pretty good and accurate. Did anyone else catch the double entendre in Bush's remarks when he said Clinton "brought joy into the White House"? Yea, "joy" for himself!
