Northcentral is not, even w/o accreditation

I just took a look at Northcentral's site. This school is not even accredited and it looks like the minimum money it would take to complete their Ph.D., if one had a Master's degree, would be more than $12,000. That's quite expensive compared to other unaccredited programs in the U.S. It's right around the same that many good Australian schools charge for their doctorates.

One takes a huge risk with NCU now if they choose to apply before accreditation. No doubt, their tuition will double or triple if they get it but if they fail in their attempt, which is extremely possible given the many schools that do not succeed at this, then a person would be out at least $12K and have nothing in my opinion. We have discussed this on the forum before, though.

    Hi Bing,

I have questioned the same. But if you look at the NCU catalog you will find that the minimum requirement for the Ph.D. in Bus.Adm. is 96 graduate semester hours beyond the BS/BA degree. Given that most MA/MS porograms yield 36-40 Sem Hrs that would leave one just 56-60 Grad. Sem. Hrs to complete. And at 120 or 165 dollars per sem hr that would cost from 6700 to 9900 (approx)
    plus other "stuff".

The tuition is $165/credit hour. Plus another $1200 for the dissertation fee they charge and then the other fees on top of that.
