I’d take a socialist democrat over a fascist MAGAt every single day of the week. The end. Full stop.

Then they should endorse Mamdani and criticize Cuomo and Adams for running third party. It feels like establishment Democrats no longer want to win elections. Dems have a charismatic and popular democratic candidate who is making waves across the US, yet they play into the false right-wing framing that he is antisimetic.

Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo ran on a pro-Israel platform and lost the primary. It didn’t resonate with voters. It is a losing message. Support for Israel is at an all time low. People want local politicians to address kitchen table issues, not geopolitical conflicts. Yet the old guard keeps pushing the issue and losing with it.

Yes, I'm sure that they will. Give them time. They just have to give the Jewish vote their due respect first.

    Opponents are after him:

Political optics: Malik was affiliated with Mamdani’s campaign, raising questions of judgment and oversight.
Ideological signals: Her use of “jihad,” combined with confrontational language toward police, alarms those wary of extremist framing.
Campaign challenge: Mamdani may face pressure to distance himself and clarify his stance on such rhetoric.

"A former intern for New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani appeared in a resurfaced video calling activism "jihad" while encouraging protesters to get suspended or arrested in defiance of "settler colonialism."

The footage of Hadeeqa Malik shows her calling out Muslims who haven't taken to the streets.

"The true believer knows that none of this is in vain, that this is all Jihad," said Malik in the recently resurfaced video, using the Muslim term for holy war.
"So, the conversation of doxing, the conversation of getting arrested and suspended, I think it’s time for Muslims to start to say, 'All right, all right, so what? Do what you want. I'm going to do what I got to do,'" she added.

Malik served as a communications, outreach, policy, and constituent services intern at Mamdani's state Assembly office during the summer of 2024."

A resurfaced video shows Hadeeqa Malik—Zohran Mamdani’s former intern—characterizing activism as “jihad” and urging defiance through suspension or arrest, alongside another clip of her aggressively confronting a Muslim NYPD officer. The incident has drawn media attention and criticism, though neither Mamdani nor CAIR have publicly addressed it."

Fortunately for all of us, that's a false dichotomy.

They are trying soooooo hard to smear him that they have resorted to investigating summer interns and claiming they represent his beliefs.

You are correct. The other choices are sexual predator and nursing citizen killer Andrew Cuomo and corrupt Trump loyalist Eric Adams. Take your pick.

Or Jim Walden, who is none of those things.

I suspect that a part of that is coming from conspiracy theorists that are just Islamophobic and grasping at anything that might support what they want to believe. Then another part is just Republicans trying to smear all Democrats.

    So
Isn't it what we hear about every political rival. I think digging or airing the dirty laundry is expected in our day.
It's a scrutiny candidates are exposed to endure.
As it is mentioned - sexual predator and nursing citizen killer, and corrupt loyalist, etc.

Maybe there is no smoke without fire? because when one is a co-founder of an Israel hate group on campus.

    Some try connecting the dots.

The majority Americans including myself no longer support Israel after finally seeing the horrific destruction they inflict on the Palestinians.

That’s not to say cofounding a college campus group is even equivalent to corruption and sexual assault.

While you try to downplay the issue, it's important to remember that the group in question was founded before the current war—even before October 7th—during a time when Hamas was already openly committed to Israel's destruction. The conflict against Israel has been ongoing for over 75 years, and what happened on October 7 wasn't the start, but the continuation of that campaign.
What’s troubling is that, despite the horrifying crimes committed by Hamas—rape, torture, murder of civilians, and other atrocities—many still rally behind groups in colleges that either excuse or even justify these acts. That should matter.
The large Jewish communities in New York and elsewhere have every reason to be deeply concerned. When someone starts or leads a group that frames Israel as the villain while ignoring or justifying crimes against Israeli civilians—including what are clearly hate crimes—that’s not just “activism.” It’s moral blindness, at best, and complicity at worst.

You are again conflating support of Palestine with support of Hamas as well as conflating Jews with the state of Israel. Mamdani had a strong Jewish coalition supporting him, many of whom are against Israel’s actions in Gaza.

The only moral blindness here is from those who ignore the rape, torture, murder, and other atrocities against innocent Palestinians at the hands of Israel.

I really dont see much significance for the major of New York needing to support the state of Israel. That is Eric Adam’s position and he is losing bigly.

We have different views on that.

Palestinians and their enables (users) in their quest to destroy Israel brought calamities on themselves.
Israel has no need in to fighting them, there are no atrocities against "innocent" Palestinians at the hands of Israel.
There is war that is a result of Palestinian and Jihadi terror.
The same vilans that kill themselves also use Palestinians in their Jihad.

This rhetoric is strikingly similar to Nazi propaganda, that is with Palestinian used in place of Jew, and Israel in place of Germany.

“The Jews long for one thing: to reward or foolishness with bloodshed and terror. It must never come to that. One of the most effective defenses is an unforgiving, cold hardness against the destroyers of our people, against the instigators of the war, against those who would benefit if we lose, and therefore also against the victims, if we win.

Therefore, we must say again and yet again:

    1. The Jews are our destruction. They started this war and direct it. They want to destroy the German Reich and our people. This plan must be blocked.

    2. There are no distinctions between Jews. Each Jew is a sworn enemy of the German people. If he does not make his hostility plain, it is only from cowardice and slyness, not because he loves us.

    3. The Jews are to blame for each German soldier who falls in this war. They have him on their conscience, and must also pay for it.
    …”

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/30/business/zohran-mamdani-grocery-stores
Mamdani’s proposal to open five city-owned grocery stores in New York City has been widely criticized for several key reasons that highlight its potential downsides:
intention is to reduce food insecurity and lower prices, economists and industry experts warn that a government-operated grocery model in a large, complex city like New York is likely to backfire economically and practically, creating more problems than it solves.
Some experts recommend alternatives such as expanding food assistance programs instead.
So far I think this candidate will bankrupt the city, he has good intentions but not practical.

Rhetoric, is one thing, history is another.

I know what you are trying to do, but it will not work. Fact is that Gaza was turned by Gazans in to one big military platform with aim to destroy Israel.
Jews at time of Nazis were peaceful regular LOYAL citizens. They didn't attack Germans or Italians, Russians etc.
Gaza choose terror over coexistence, they plotted and developed infrastructure with one aim, destruction of Israel. West Bank was lagging after but also worked hard on the same.
Hamas, Islamic Jihad all celebrated with Gazans who are their parents, etc., on Oct 7th.
They educate the kids to murder Jews. This is an old war,
Many in Israel lost hope for coexistence and two states.
