I wasn't a big fan of their overall message, but that's a loss for property rights and freedom of expression.

I don't care that much about statues. People will do what they will do.

This kind of complacency is unempathic at best and dangerous at worst. You don't care about statues but the person who will blow one up could do a lot of other violence.

What an anti-intellectual cop out. Why not say the same thing about the guy who shot up that Fourth of July parade?

That statue is racist. If the community doesn’t want the statue there, the statue shouldn’t be there.

How is it racist? I've seen multiple complaints, for various reasons, but I don't think any of them hold water. This is the first time I've heard of them being called racist.

Really? Here's what was inscribed on it:
    1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
    2. Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.
    3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
    4. Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.
    5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
    6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
    7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
    8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
    9. Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.
    10. Be not a cancer on the Earth – Leave room for nature – Leave room for nature.
Some of these are absolutely dreadful ideas, on that I would heartily agree. But "racist" is not a catch-all pejorative for anything objectionable. Doubly so when the monument was inscribed in various languages from all over the world.

When someone bombs a monument in the dead of night, that is not expression of preference by "the community". The land and monument had been ceded to the county. If a majority of people really didn't want it there, there were options.

A statue that calls for the elimination of billions of people of color is obviously racist and made by a white supremacist.

It doesn't call for that. While I strongly disagree with them, there are people who advocate using persuasion, not force, to convince people (regardless of ethnicity) not to have children, or to have no more than one, so as to decrease gradually the overall world population.

I think LevelUP is attempting to make a (bad) argument that the Guidestones are like statues of Christopher Columbus and similar, and that if it's okay for activists to take those down it's okay for someone to blow up the Guidestones.

People of color tend to have the most children.

These white supremacists are going to tell people of color how many kids they are allowed to have?

This propaganda looks like something that would come out of a KKK manifesto.

Kind of like how they did with the COVID vaccine mandates right?

Make it pretty much impossible for them to live their lives unless they comply. That is the definition of force IMO and the majority of other people as well.

A day after vandals destroyed the controversial monument in Georgia dubbed “America’s Stonehenge” and considered “satanic” by some members of the far right, questions continue to swirl about how it became a flashpoint for violence.

The Georgia bureau of investigation, which is dealing with the case along with the Elbert county sheriff’s office, said that unknown individuals detonated an explosive device at the Georgia Guidestones granite monument in Elberton at around 4am on Wednesday, destroying a large part of the structure.

The 19ft monument was later completely demolished by local authorities for safety reasons. No one was injured during the incident.

Act of God? Who toppled Georgia’s ‘satanic’ standing stones? (msn.com)

Who is forcing you to have (or not) have kids, exactly?

So tell me your step-by-step plan on how we go from 8 billion people to 500 million without it being forced?

Um... In most modern countries, there are less than 2.1 children / women, so, well, you just have to wait until they all die from old age.

Why do we need to get to 500 million people?

Grab some hoods, some dead animal carcass and you got yourself a party. I like that idea.

That might take 100,000 years or so to get there. Somebody should graph this out.

They say patience is a virtue.
