The latest edition Bears’ Guide lists more than 15 programs from both U.S.-based and foreign schools. One program that is not listed, however, just might be considered by many to be the best—the Internet MPH program offered by Johns Hopkins University (see here). ” Students will have three years to complete the 80 credits required for the degree, and will begin the program in either January or June with a two-week, on-site orientation and coursework in Baltimore.”
Here's a list of distance MPH programs, from my website: http://www.geocities.com/texastortuga/links.html I've tried to include only programs that can be completed with very little or no residence. Programs that use a substantial amount of video conferencing delivered to a limited number of sites are not included in the list. I'm now starting my 3rd year in the M.Sc. in epidemiology with the University of London External Programme. I've been very pleased with the academic quality, and I would recommend it if you are interested in epidemiology and don't care whether you get a MS or MPH. There are many more options available now than when I started, but I would still choose University of London if I were starting now. If money were no object, I'd also look at the Johns Hopkins and UIC programs. Depending on your interests, another program might be a better fit. Good luck, Alex
