What is interesting about this Catholic University is they are going from DIII to DI. After being kicked out of the DIII conference for being too successful.

Am I the only one who hates these names? With the exception of “Master of the Lean Enterprise”, I’ve seen real degrees out there with these titles. Which, of course, these aren’t. The “Mini MBA”, the only one I checked, isn’t even for transcripted academic credit, it’s for CEUs!

Seems to me that the door is wide open for resume abuse with these.

I like these names and they are not new.

The first Mini-MBA program was introduced back in 1949 at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and they still teach it for about $14,000. The University of St. Thomas-Minnesota, Opus College of Business Mini-MBAs started in 1974. The Rutgers Business School with 18-different versions of their Mini-MBAs (with digital badges) are the gold standard in the US. Rutgers now started a Mini-MPA a few years ago.

They are a credential to put on a resume from an official University, but they are not a degree.

You're not alone; like you I think they're borderline duplicitous.

I hate it took...the name series with Mini MBA, Nano Degree, MicroMaster, and MicroBachelor. I like traditional titles like:

    - Certificate (Executive Certificate, Professional Certificate)
    - Bachelor
    - Master
    - Doctorate (Ph.D., EdD, DBA, MD, PsyD, PharmD, and etc.)
