Microsoft Word Question

This is driving me nuts! I have done it before and can not figure this out. How do you highlight sections like in this example - http://www.greatresumesfast.com/samples/executive/Director%20of%20Professional%20Services.pdf

Are blocked out in black with white lettering. How do I do this?????

 

In Open Office Writer: White font, highlighted black. Highlight, then tab or space through the areas where there is no print.

In Word 2010, white font with black shading (on the Paragraph section of the Toolbar).

I really like the way that resume looks. Good choice! I wonder how it stands up to the automated word scanners recruiters use so much these days to screen online applicants?

 

I would think that it shouldn't cause a problem. The word scanners recognize the characters, not the font or shading, so the word scanner should pick everything up.

 

Another way to do this is to insert a table, type text, then change font color and fill table with color.

[FONT=&quot]RESUME[/FONT]​

I also use this technique to quickly insert photographs into a document.

I convert resumes and other documents into PDFs before sending to a third party.
