someone thinks it's a big deal https://www.forbes.com/sites/dereknewton/2019/02/25/why-its-a-big-deal-that-the-university-of-michigan-mba-is-going-online/#135551e5c0b3
Yeah, I don't get it but then it seems clear that if no one was willing to pay the price then the price would drop. With so many alternatives around I'm not sure why people would pay so much. Just a prestige thing? Gold leaf diploma?
To my knowledge, it's the best MBA to go online, there aren't any top-10s to go this route, are there? When you look at the potential value of a top-10 MBA, it might make sense from an ROI, cost accounting perspective. The only question is whether up in such rarified air, if the online aspect might be a problem because much of the value of an MBA--certainly an elite MBA--isn't the education or the pedigree, but the networking and the recruitment opportunities. Wondering if those will be there at a high level with an online program. I guess so long as online students are allowed full access to recruitment events and other networking opportunities, maybe it's a good deal. I have a half brother who parlayed his b-school education at USC-Marshall into an opportunity that led to him making $300K last year, and the kid's about 30.
Johns Hopkins's MBA is $70k Imperial College is about $48k I don't see why someone would go for Michigan unless their company is sponsoring them.
Of course, if you're going to pay that kind of money then you'll want all the bells and whistles. So it's disappointing to see that their women's soccer team is remarkably average. https://mgoblue.com/schedule.aspx?path=wsoc
