MBBS in Caribbean Islands

    Very true. In the past few years, Caribbean Islands have shown a rapid development in terms of medical education system in the past few years. There are top medical colleges in the Caribbean Islands such as Alexander American University, Texila American University etc…

    Except that neither of those is accredited by CAAM-HP or recognized as an acceptable foreign medical school by California's Medical Licensing Board. Without accreditation it's hard to imagine how they could be considered "top medical colleges", even in the local Caribbean context. Without recognition by the licensing board, a graduate wouldn't even be allowed to practice where I live (or in any other US state that uses the California list).

    In my opinion the 'top' Caribbean medical schools might be UWI, Ross, St. Georges and the U. of Guyana. All four are accredited by CAAM-HP and appear on California's acceptables list.

    But it needs to be said that merely having accreditation and being acceptable for licensure is a bare minimum requirement, not something that defines a "top" medical school.

    This is what a top medical college looks like.
