I'm curious if anybody knows of any programs that is similar to University of Nebraska's MBA in Accounting. Meaning, you only need a business degree with accounting preq of Financial and Managerial. I know in their MBA accounting, one of the electives are Intermediate Accounting, so you don't have to take this as an undergraduate course, because it's one of the electives. I read information on Bellevue, but you need to have taken Intermediate, Auditing, and Taxation preq. prior to enrolling.

Thanks for the information. APU does looks like it has a good program, but also getting confused as to which route to go. I can take a few courses at my local school and maybe start at Bellevue University in March 2010 and take one course per semester and finish in three years. But each time I keep thinking that maybe I should take a business calculus course in the summer/fall and also study for the GMAT and try to get into the University of Nebraska MBA. One thing about UNL is that it's 48 units instead of 36 and I have to take the GMAT and a business calculus course and would take me a year longer. Then again, I don't know how much more I would gain from UNL verse Bellevue, as Bellevue seems to be a good program as well. At 43 years of age, time is of the essence. lol

Here's an mba in accounting/finance and all you have to have is a bachelor's degree in pretty much any field (business related would be desired). I contacted the admissions people and they have 3 pre-mba prep courses that you take which prepare you for the mba. You may actually be exempt from the pre-mba courses depended on what you had taken in your bachelor's program.

    Also, no GMAT required.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that Northcentral University offered MBA in accounting. I didn't see it listed as one of their 16 specializations. I notice they offer advanced accounting as one of the COGS. I sent them several emails but they never responded.

Not really interested in MS in Accounting because employer would only pay for MBA. It seems that I should just take cost acct this summer and taxation and auditing in fall and enroll into Bellevue's MBA program, or Umass or UNL if I can get my GMAT high enough.
