This "university" says it's accredited by "ACICU" - so close to ACICS! (and yet so far). The accreditor has a page - and says it originated as the National Home Study Council in 1926. Hey, isn't that the origin of well-known National Accreditor, DEAC?

ACICU stands for Accrediting Commission of International Colleges and Universities. Fancy pages for a brutal fraud. They even left DETC somewhere in their history blurb and claim US Department of Education recognition. These folks should be in jail, but they're likely not prosecutable from where they are. English is terrible and indicates overseas origin.

Whois shows that just like all credible universities, the U. of Denton website is registered anonymously, through something called WhoisGuard.

The Registrant's location is given as the Republic of Panama. But that's apparently WhoisGuard's address. Our perp could be anywhere.

The telephone number on the Whois is a number in Mankato MN that's apparently associated with all kinds of scams.

The fax seems to be to a number with country code 51, which seems to be Peru.

Right, looks like a perfectly legitimate university to me.

Inside Higher Ed is on the case, but basically just repeats the information that Kizmet posted. (I see a comment by George Gollin in the comments!)

Oh, Denton. Also known as Hampden State University, Charleston State University, Sheffield State University and Oneida University.
