Hi CMT, I would almost guarantee that this listing of clep tests is referring to the scoring before the minimum pass rate was adjusted to '50'. You might be surprised at how many schools still have the old scores listed. Just how hard is it to update a website? Tony P.S. Just to clarify, not only was the pass scored changed, but also the scoring methodology. For example, if the minimum passing score was 46, a person performing at the same level would now get a 50 (in theory.)
That might explain some of them, but how could they have awarded 14 credits for a language CLEP. Also, they awarded upper division credit for CLEP's. Those are only a couple of things I noticed.
A lot of schools are kindof quirky in regards to their CLEP policy. I have found a few who reward upper division credit, including well respected Regis University who awards UD credit for American Literature, Human Growth & Development, Business Law, Principles of Management and, Principles of Marketing. They also allow up to 90 credits earned through exams to be applied to a degree program (although they are pretty murky about this, and it certainly isn't guaranteed that they will allow a student to use that many.) In any case, if you look at enough CLEP policies, you will learn to accept the diversity of policies concerning standardized exams. Tony
