So I just finished up my BA in Sociology from Ashford University!! Woo hoo right! Well, I am sick it must be because I would like to keep moving forward and find an MBA program (I think?). I have worked in accounting/bookkeeping and assisting the president of small corporations for the past 15 years. I have taken finance, economics, accounting etc in college prior to going to Ashford. I am looking at Ashford again, Cornerstone University Online, and Western Governor's University. Cornerstone looks really nice, has a 10 day global travel component of the MBA. They are $450 a credit hour plus $3500 for the Global Experience trip. Ashford is comfortable, I am familiar with it and its structure. WGU is intriguing but I don't know about the structure, credibilitiy or success in learning from that program. I really want to take relavent classes and learn something along with building my resume. I love classes! Crazy! Thanks so much for input on any of the three I am looking at something I should be looking at. Bdthanos

Are you interested in continuing your studies in accounting? If so, an MBA with a concentration in accounting may be a good option for you.
I just finished up my MBA through Kennesaw State University and the Georgia WebMBA (walked last night!). I'm not sure what you're looking at price-wise, but the program was about $20k and only took me 18 months (five semesters of 2 classes each). There were a few hiccups in the professors I had, but other than that, the program is pretty solid and gets you a degree from a B&M state university. You can choose where you degree comes from among six participating schools. You'll have to take the GMAT and depending on your undergrad courses, might have to take a brief Foundations course in Statistics, Finance, and/or Accounting. Georgia WebMBA® : Home
Funny thing is I am not crazy about accounting, that is why I decided to study sociology. I was thinking MBA with global or international business specialization. My company I work for now sells product (large machinery) to domestic and international companies. MBA seems to be the appropriate path due to my experience. I don't want to push paper forever though and count beans.
I have taken Statistics, Finance and several accouting classes through the years. I currently want to move away from the accounting and bean counting and move into more active roles. We do work internationally and I was thinking a global or international specialization would be useful and interesting. I am looking at spending $25,000 max and would like an 18-24 month completion timeframe. I work full-time, have kids and a life! Thanks

Have you looked at National University (nu.edu) They have a MBA with specialization in international business and due to their 1 month semesters (1 class a month) you could complete the 16-19 class MBA within 16-19 months. Here is the link to the page National University • Online and in class Master Degree in Business Administration, MBA degrees for continuing adult education online Based on graduate admissions costs you would be able to complete the degree for the 25000 - 29000 dollar range.
Where do you live? I'd look for something in the same state or region. Something with local name recognition might be good to have if you need to look for a job.
How about Walsh College in Troy, MI? They have an MBA plus other grad programs online. They also have grad certificates. You could work on a certificate on your way to MBA. Online Programs - Walsh College There's also Baker College, there are a bunch of posts on this site on Baker. They have accelerated courses, I think 6 weeks in length.
Hi, I too have considered the MBA program at WGU. Interestingly enough WGU is gaining recognition. They are now considered a state university in Indiana and Washington. Check it out... Legislature Establishes New Online University for Washington State - Yahoo! News
WGU is not considered a state school in Indiana. The arrangements between WGU and the state are little more than a marketing agreement.
