Hi, Could anyone provide a comprehensive or long list of completely online biology degrees or give me pointers for finding more offerings? I looked all that I could find from multiple Google searches, a couple dozen of them, and I'd like to check out any that I missed that are BS or BA degrees from RA schools. They have to be in biological sciences or biology. Not biotechnology, natural science, environmental science, health science, etc. I'm not interested in most of the specialized degrees either (such as conservation biology, microbiology, molecular biology, ecology, biostatistics, biopsychology, etc). Biomedical degrees probably won't work, but I'd like to look at those.
It would be helpful if you shared what you have already found. Also, maybe there just aren't many biology degrees online. I don't think such a major is best suited for online learning.
I agree, it helps if you tell us what you've already found. The only one I know of off the top of my head is TESU. I think APUS might have one, too, but I'm not positive.
Some others, Arizona State University BS Biological Sciences (concentrations available in Biology and Society, Biomedical Sciences, Conservation Biology and Ecology; Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology) Florida International University BA Biological Sciences (tracks available in Allied Health Profession; Health Policy, Environmental Policy and Pre-Law; Science Communication; and Bioentrepreneur) Harvard Extension School ALB Science concentration, Biology field of study (low-residency) Logan University BS Human Biology University of Florida BA Biology or BS Microbiology and Cell Science University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee BS Biomedical Sciences, concentration in Health Science (Flex Option competency-based education) Excelsior University's BS Natural Science has a titled concentration in Biology available. Arizona State University also has an online BS in Biochemistry. Secondary teaching in biology would add options including Western Governors University. Kinesiology and exercise science would add options.
Adding to the list. Life University's Bachelor of Science in Biology The University of Alaska at Fairbanks' Bachelor of Arts/Science in Biological Science The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science in Biology (Not Global Campus/FKA Ashford University) Oregon State University's Bachelor with Mino in Biology
@Trek - How much are you willing to spend on your degree? What have you completed already, credit wise? If you have all your lower level courses done, TESU Biology would most likely be the cheapest. You'll need to find the remainder of the upper level courses elsewhere to transfer into the degree. I am working on the same second degree with a second major in Comp Sci. Here are the requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Thomas Edison State University | Bachelor of Arts (tesu.edu) Second Link to the Catalog: Thomas Edison State University - BA in Biology (smartcatalogiq.com)
I would highly recommend looking at ASU's offerings; I'm about to graduate from there in a week and I've found the quality of education to be extremely high, and the professors are really top notch. They have multiple biology programs available online.
