Yes, there is a lot of AI in there. Some was created from scratch (direct video creation from a concept in my head), some was created starting first with AI created still photos that I built on little by little until animating, and other stuff is real video that was manipulated with AI. I did all of it. It's a slow, tedious, imperfect process, and one I had to learn on the fly because I had no experience at all.

The blonde female in Walk Off The Earth (WOTA) is Sara Blackwood. Before WOTA, she was the lead singer for The Creepshow which is a band in our genre and one of my favorite bands ever. They're also from Canada. Her sister, Jen Blackwood, was the singer before Sara. My last band played with them years ago in Baltimore. Pretty cool experience.

I'm not a brand new beginner, but I'm not to intermediate level yet. My sewing teacher has been YouTube, LOL.

My 9 year old daughter is learning to crochet really well from YouTube. If you can sew up the hole in the heel of my sock you're advanced enough for me! I wish there was a YouTube when I was a kid. I learned guitar by ear, a mail order cassette tape by Doug Marks, and the occasional rock song written in tablature that was included in the monthly rock mags like Circus and Hit Parader. YouTube would have been awesome.

I enjoy reading all of your answers! First non-academic thing for me is that it's been 6 months since my last drink, feels great! I'm trying to get my health in order: lower my blood pressure, exercise more. I've set two goals for this year: to get my French to B1 on the CEFR scale (low-intermediate.) In either December or March I'll take the DELF B1 test, an official test of French proficiency. I'm also taking my kids to Disney in a few months which is super exciting. After I get back, I'm going to start swimming lessons. I'm about to turn 35 and I don't know how to swim, which is a source of stress every summer. So I've finally decided I'm going to learn.

Hope you all have a great week.

I missed this question while I was gone.

My non-academic self? I'm a semi-retired police officer, I say semi-retired because I filed my retirement papers with the city and now collect a pension, but I've kept up my POST certification and still work part-time for my former department as well as the PD for small town where I now live. Not sure if it qualifies as non-academic, but I teach college (Criminal Justice/Criminology and Psychology) for three different RA schools (public and private), both online and in-classroom, and am going through the onboarding process to teach online for a DEAC school, which I think will be an interesting experience (I previously taught online for a ACICS school).

I also volunteer as a peer counselor for a peer support unit for first responders, and am a Veteran of the Army & Army National Guard (9 years total), deployed to the First Gulf War (1990-91) and am a DAV due to respiratory issues arising from breathing in the smoke from the oil well fires, chemical agents from the pit demolitions, etc.

I used to be a fairly accomplished jazz guitar player, but De Quervain's tenosynovitis and recurring ganglion cysts in my fretting hand has kind of put a damper on that. Neither has flared up in a couple of years, so I'm considering starting back up again.

That's about it, I live a pretty boring life by choice!
