Kursk State is being marketed in the Asian region, providing bachelor and masters degrees, through a combination of seminar instruction plus a final two plus weeks on campus in Russia.

Any comments about this institution? It appears to be government owned, located on a substantial campus and enjoys full recognition and accreditation.

You can take a look at it here
    http://www.kstu.kursk.ru
but, as far as I can tell, if you don't read Russian then you won't get far.
David - got a different url?

    Reaminds me the WIDU stuff?

Learner, can you explain what the "WIDU stuff "is/was?

I will be very interested in what reply you get from Kursk.

Agree with you; sounds too good to be true.

Are you suggesting that there may be some Kursk Professors who are moonlighting and have some arrangement to award the Kursk degree?

    Very curious....

    WIDU World Information Distributed University

One deception from their web site

You see governmental institutions require by law state accredited national state format degrees - not the format of WIDU.

    they claim the following:
ODA listed them as a diploma mill - today I looked and couldnt find the listing.

They are affiliated with diploma mill in delaware - KIUST.

any way more info when I get reply.

    Yes, curious to know more...

What got me suspicious was the wording of the English link from the Kursk site...Tell you nothing about the institution but simply lists names and another institution!

At least if they have athletic teams, they have a natural name for them . . . the Kursk Nightingales.

When Marina Constantinovna and I spent some time in Kursk, long ago, our Intourist Guide's mantra was "There are four things you must always remember about Kursk: our nightingales, our apples, our magnetic anomaly, and the definitive battle of world war two." By golly, I still do. But this 'university' is not a worthy addition to that list.

I don't think there is any doubt that Kursk STU exists and is a recognised government university.

What I am wondering is whether the officials of the university have an official affiliation agreement with any group in Asia or for that matter, anywhere.

Looking again at the English version of the website, there is a mention of Ecuador!

    The plot thickens ...
