Flu attacked city at feverish pace in 1918, claiming many lives
Wonder if that was his grandpa?
Nope. John is the first in his line of Bears.
Bad title for a thread. That makes your heart drop when you first read it.
Re: BAD TITLE
Think how John must feel!
I just thought it was the latest claim from AED:
John Bear arrested put in jail for 100 years...
John Bear dead (influenza)... that he caught in jail while trying to peddle degree mill'd degrees.
John Bear dies in prison.
Ghost returns to terrorize degree mill barons.
One of my mother's heart-stopping moments was when I was 8 and sent to summer camp in Maine while my parents were househunting in Los Angeles. One day a Western Union messenger came to the door, with a telegram bordered in black. In those days they hand-delivered the black-bordered ones with special grief-trained messengers. The camp director was so pleased that I had earned my swimming test gold medal that he sent a telegram that simply said, "Johnnie passed today." Life (and death) in the pre-Email era.
Now that you're dead, John, can we expect to soon see the much-anticipated posthumous edition (the one that names names, etc)?
Com'on John you missed it"
"The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."
Separate names with a comma.
