It was a "simple" question to which you already knew the answer - i.e.sarcasm - definitely not wit. UMUC's odd name (yes it's finally been changed) is a red herring here. Defensive? I just take exception when somebody, likely for reasons of self-inflation - tries (unsuccessfully, as it turns out) to get a quick barb in at someone of far greater stature - e.g. John Bear.

It was not wit nor sarcasm. It was a question. I see two LinkedIn accounts with three colleges listed. I do not claim to be an expert. Maybe degree info is not for learning or asking a question.

I thought I knew how to Google but I guess my LinkedIn searches are weak. If I search for the name of that "school" on LinkedIn in their search bar I don't get any useable results to try to see what you guys are looking at.

It was a rhetorical question - i.e. one to which you knew the answer. And you don't have to be an expert to know U. Maryland is not a fake school. Again, your last remark about Degreeinfo is sarcastic - and I do not share your expressed doubt that DI is for learning and asking questions. However, you're entitled to your opinion...

I've said too much already, and I'm beginning to regret it - here's why. If anyone reveals info, the person's name will get in here and there will likely be a big pile-on and a thread that will possibly be deemed prejudicial to a case, if one is brought. Lawyers could and would likely - seek it out and claim that unwarranted unfavourable publicity has damaged their client's likelihood of a fair trial etc. etc. Who knows - depending what might get revealed here, DI or some members thereof - including me - might find themselves in legal hot water.

In any case, disclosure is more likely to impede Dr. Bear's work than aid it. You wouldn't want that. And I wouldn't, either.

In view of the above, maybe it might be a good idea for a Moderator to lock this thread. Could be prudent.
