That means that there are many thousands more MBA diluting the labor pool. The business "jack-of-all-trades,master-of-none" degree similiar to the MFA needs refashioned into an MBA with primary focus in accounting, economics, marketing, finance, etc. They are becoming as plentiful as RAP singers(?) !!

    Very interesting analogy Geno!

I actually agree with you in certain ways even though I belong to a different school of thought.

What do you think your opinion is, for these so-called "Jacks" ;) when it comes to interdisciplinary areas. In order to be an effective leader, one needs to know both sides of the coin.

My own area is that in engineering and IMHO, getting an MBA in my case would be for the better, since I can better relate to the business counterparts in my firm (or think of ways to start a new business altogether). Without the necessary business studies and knowledge, I would definitely be at a loss. This could equally be valid for medical doctors etc...

Circumstances are different for different people. I think, in the true spirit of business apporach, I would say that some folks would likely take this on as an opportunity than a setback...
